Questions about my great uncle's 1956 Precision

I recently acquired my great uncle's Rolex Precision from 1956 through his estate. I am not wise to the ways of Rolex and don't really know what I have or what it is worth. It runs fine, but has some superficial scratches on the crystal. I have a few questions:

looks quite similar to the 9829, model number will be in the caseback. it's a beautiful watch, in great original condition. the crystal can be polished, and will look great! the original non lume dial is one of the nicest i've seen, that minute track is incredible. it's a great family heirloom. if you get it restored just get the movement serviced and maybe a new crystal, other than that this watch is perfect. definitely don't polish the case as it will lose it's beautiful original lines. it's not an oyster case so it isn't waterproof though so keep her away from water, would be a shame if anything happened to it.

I just wanted to update this post.

My initial intention was to sell this watch. It was given to me by a family member and was originally my great uncle's watch. It is a 1956 Rolex Precision dress watch with a Ref of 9022.

I learned as much as I could about it and in the process I fell in love with the watch. I had the crystal replaced, had a new mainspring put in and the movement oiled and regulated. I put on a proper strap. I think it looks stunning now and I love wearing it whenever I can.

PS - I also have two vintage Breitling chronographs (one from 1945 and another from 1967) that I decided to keep as well. I didn't realize it but I guess I'm a vintage watch guy now.
