Undated Warranty Card?

What does it mean if the warranty card has the AD's stamp but no date or name on it?

No buyer name is fine, but no date means its not valid. Why? Do you have one?

You do mean the warranty is not valid? Not the authenticity of the card.
Correct?

It means that the watch has been sent out through unofficial channels.

Some people like the idea because they feel that it may be more marketable at some point in time, or the mistaken idea that they can just add-a-date if they need warranty work at some future time..

As mentioned, it would not be a valid card for warranty work

If I remember correctly there is something for sale at the grey dealer and selling as 'undated' but I just felt weird as I do understand the watch should have left somewhere with a date, however new or old.

Could always check to see if the card was swiped Lee. If it was swiped then the data such as purchase date is registered.

Yes, the Tudor which was given as a prize in a Golf Tournament is undated.

I asked at an AD and they said that wasn't possible. From my understanding that is only for purposes of inventory.

That is strange Lee! I just picked up two pieces from my AD yesterday and they swiped the cards to activate the warranty.

Also, do you know when this watch prize was awarded? Any tournament-related paperwork or inscribed caseback, etc?

Not that they don't swipe cards but that they can't look up the date from the cards.

Not that they don't swipe cards but that they can't look up the date from the cards. Again, it's been explained that is an inventory control measure and not a warranty activation measure on the forum in the past.

I personally would not buy a watch from a gray dealer with the date not filled out. Many ADs will leave the name unfilled, if you tell them that you plan to give it to someone as a gift. But on both of my recent AD purchases, the AD name/stamp and date was filled out.

I don't know what Rolex will do with a watch coming in for warranty work with the warranty card date not filled out or was filled out with a much later date than the original purchase date from an AD.

I don't think Tudor sponsors golf tournaments, so I guess this was a smaller event with the watch donated by a local AD, which I remember reading somewhere on here is not officially allowed by Rolex. That might be why it isn't dated/warrantied.

I suspect it was purchased by the tournament for a prize. Likely not dated as it might have been purchased ahead of the tournament. The winner wasn't a watch wearer so never considered it at all. It does have the dealers name on the card from Las Vegas. I should contact them and see the real date of sale.

About nine month before I bought the watch. So about a year ago I'd guess.

Probably worth making the call then, though I doubt it will need warranty work in the next year. Good to have a dated card for resale, though.

The Tournament was the 2014 Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament in Honolulu on 11/14 at the Hoakalei Country Club, fwiw.
