Flipped my DSSD Blue...am I the only one?!?

Bought my DSSD Blue 2 weeks ago. It was an impulse purchase. Sold my SD4k to fund it. I just haven't been able to get used to the thickness and size even though I have a 7.5 inch wrist. DavidSW still had my SD4k and a deal was struck! So my old SD4k is now an incoming! I feel bad flipping the DSSD so soon...its an amazing watch and very unique. Am I the only one who's done this?!? The madness!! Also managed to make a deal on a new 216570 from DavidSW! Pics to follow!

D-Blue eh? Its not a watch for everybody, unfortunately they dont last too long at AD to make a sound decision, even if they did until you bring it home
& spend some quality time with it its really hard to decide any watch for that matter, just looking at it in an
AD under optimal lighting conditions will not help. Good thing is now you know
you Love your SD4K, got the D-Blue out your system & good thing David still has it because your familiar with that particular watch & will provide you peace of mind. That said I am also working buying back my NIB SS White Daytona I sold few weeks ago which I purchased from AD, & seller still has it.
So your not alone.

Have had mine for a week now and absolutely love it...For my wrist it wears perfectly and I am also used to thick watches. So for me my favorite new SS Rolex! Love the look, feel and wrist presence and the gradient blue dial is amazing!! My guess is you aren't first person to flip a DSSD though.

Unless your an AD or Trusted seller even the mighty D-blue
will incur minor loses. Compered to to ladies Diamond bezel
Diamond dial which would be a fiasco like a 50% of MSRP & doing you a favor to take it off your hands adds insult to injury, to lose a few hundred & call it a day if unhappy & get no wrist time. Lets just say your getting out unscathed with a valuable lesson.

I would so love to have the wrist to pull off a DSSD!

All that matters is what feels good and comfortable on your wrist, so if the SD4K is that piece you are definitely making the right decision.

Wow, that was fast!
But you gave it a try and don't have to wonder "what if?"
Now you're sure you have the right watch for you

Not with the Blue, but I've done similar things. Too many times.

Life is short. Love it.

The blue dial was amazing. I never would have bought it if it wasn't for the dial. Never had any interest in the regular DSSD. I was also lured in by the rarity of it. Surely to be a classic someday! I am happy to get my original SD4k as I bought it new.

I sold my black dial DSSD to fund a D-Blue, sold it after a couple of months. I loved the blue face but it got old fast.

I've flipped my share of watches (sometimes twice). Apparently I'm not a fast learner. Glad you got your watch back.

It's a thick heavy watch just as the black dial dssd is - a half blue dial doesn't make it any thinner or lighter but it does make you think you want one but that novelty also soon wore off with me and I got rid off it no regrets at all.

That watch is a beast. It's definitely not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with you wanting to flip it for something that fits you better. You know what's best for you!

Hell, the SubC was too big for me; I flipped it and kept my 14060. I won't even consider a DSSD blue or otherwise.

At least you might not lose to much on the sale of the DSSD Blue. As a lot of people want it.

I have been considering flipping my DSSD, I want a Bluesy again, but every time I go to the AD and try it on. . . . Too small on my meat paw. I have decided the DSSD and EXP II are my keepers.

Deep Sea is awesome. If u have small wrists, it may be too much to sit with.

I find it interesting that when the original Deepsea was launched around 7-8 years ago, it was not widely seen as being desirable. Most of the criticism centered around the large, thick head and supposedly disproportionately slim bracelet which not only looked off, it also made the watch an uncomfortable wear.

As a result, it sold for a discount - I know because I got mine for a decent 10% off retail in 2008 or 2009.

Fast forward to today and it seems that the Deepsea is now not only highly desirable, the blue dial version commands a premium! In the grey market, the premium is even more pronounced that the few hundred bucks' difference in retail prices.

So much so that the OP is questioning the wisdom of flipping it!
