114060 or 14060 for a formal occasion?

Given the fact to choose only one and choose between either the 114060 or the 14060 - which one would you wear to a formal occasion?

Personally, I tilt to the 5 digit ref.

Your five digit reference is a two liner, mine is a four liner, a 14060m (does the 'm' count?).
Personally, I'm not one who agrees that because a fictional spy wore one with his tux that's it's ok for formal wear. If it's your only choice, fine, but there are many other watches more appropriate for dressy or formal attire.
By the way, the two liner dial looks a bit cleaner.

Great advice - but I really dislike leather bands and so called dress watches. I find them boring. Sorry - so that's why this poll is just about steel vs. steel / ceramic. :)

The 14060 if you must wear one of them formally. It fits under a shirt cuff better.

5 dig, but in all honesty, they don't look that different from each other.

Either, both look great. I would probably personally go for 114060 only because of the newer bracelet style.

Being closer to 60 than 30, I take that as an compliment and not as an insult - as an average man at my age would by default do.

Maybe the desert wind has finally got you confused - or was it the "I am 19" part?

Anyway:

Absolutely and it has a very clean simple dial. Must wear one, being the key. My preference would be neither but that was not the option.

I agree, and in general 14060 seems a bit smaller, therefore better with a formal attire.

He appease advise on the cuff links. I was recently gifted a pair of cuff links. By my female boss on her European trip. She also gave me a shirt for them to go with it. I have since aquifer another shirt that requires cuff links. Not a tuxedo shirt but a dress / business shirt.

Fun having a female boss she buys me clothes for our birthday and Christmas gift exchanges. Says its more fun to shop for men then women. Ha.

Since I only own a 14060m, that's what I'd wear

Beautiful pic Bjoern. I'm gonna have to go with the 14060. More minimalist and discreet.

Probably 14060 as it is abit smaller. But neither watches are for formal occasions.

What, you mean James Bond isn't real? Dude, you could have broken it to me gently!

OP, go for the alu insert. As Adam has said, it'll fit under your shirt better.

BTW, I'm with you, I prefer SS sports watches too. I am not at all a fan of dress watches and next time I have a black tie event, I'm wearing my D-Blue (assuming I have it by then).

Just sayin'

To my eye, the case and non-maxi dial/hands of the 14060 are much more classy and classic. The blocky SubC case and maxi dial/hands makes it look more tool watch-ish. For this scenario I'd have to go 14060.
