BB black, distribution number for Tourneau

So picked up my BB black today, after the AD (Tourneau) held it for me since it arrived in their store on Monday.

From what they told me, their entire corporate allocation of the initial release was 26 pieces total. They have 33 stores. Pretty tight allocation given they are most likely one of Tudors largest ADs in the states. Mine was the last remaining.

Anyway, here's the wrist shot. Yes, it's as terrific as everyone says.. Much different feel than my BB red.

Congratulations. I have a red myself. Do you think it's so different to justify buying it too? Isn't the blue more different?

So, red vs black...yes, I think they are very different in feel. If you wear the red on the strap, it's very "brown". The black is very "black". I know it's a crappy way to put it, but one feels very warm, the other very serious.

The blue has never done it for me to be honest.

Can you confirm that the dials on the red and black are exactly the same? The red in pictures has a chocolate quality that I don't see in pics I've seen of the black model. Maybe it's just lighting. Thoughts?

Looking at them side by side now. They are very close, close enough to say I'm not 100% sure. The black looks blacker. I've studied them for several minutes and I'm convinced they are different. Again, it's so subtle that it could be a trick of the eyes. Only way to be sure is to check Tudor part numbers, or to uncase them and look at them on their own.

Great watch. Tourneau is as trustworthy as a grain of salt. Scummy sales staff.

I know their reputation isn't great, but I have not had this experience. I purchased my BBB at T-the staff has been nothing but helpful and informative, at least here in SWFL. My sales person went as far as texting me to tell me they had one coming in and held it for me without any issue.

I have to say that is a great looking watch. I love the vintage Subs, but I just don't want a watch that looks old and the Sub is just too small. This BBblk hits it right on all accounts. I called my local AD - all sold out, figure I will wait 6 months for the production pipe to fill the initial need.

I see Hodinkee has the BBblk back at the top of their home page. Well that will help...

Not a fan either. Of the two Tudor ADs near me, they at least got some. I'll say this, it wasn't a sales tactic as we were done and just chatting. They also held it, no deposit and no pressure, for five days without knowing me. In this instance, I was pretty pleased.

There are plenty available on the forums already less than MSRP.

FWIW, my opinion of Hodinkee matches that of some others opinions of Tourneau. I think this watch will be a huge hit. Tudor is killing it.

Positive or negative opinion, and why? Not stirring the pot. Just curious.

Clearly not hard to get, just in relatively short supply after the initial release last week. No doubt many many more are shipping. Surely Tudor wanted to create a high demand situation at the launch. They'll be as readily available as the blue or red very shortly.
