One watch, 3 personalities...

Well, it looks like I'm really diggin' my Diver. I first got it 31 days ago, and I can't recall ever being so happy with any other watch. Ever. And I've had quite a few over the years...

But back to the title of the post, I wanted to share how versatile the Diver really is. Yes, you may be able to say the same for other AP's, but since I have a Diver, this is what I'll share.

With the original black rubber strap is is a true sports watch. It looks like a diving watch, and plays the part really well. Goes great with casual looks, it is light, it is comfortable and looks like a killer high-end tool watch.

But when you add an original AP Hornback leather strap and deployant, it transforms into a more sophisticated and elegant piece, one that works great with a sports jacket, or business casual look. It still is reasonably light, and extremely comfortable, and having a deployant makes it super easy to get on or off your wrist, while keeping the strap looking like new for a long time. Only downside is that you have to be a little bit careful when washing your hands not to get water and/or soap on the leather. And nobody does hornback straps like AP!

And finally, adding the SS bracelet truly transforms this watch. It suddenly yells at you: I'm here, look at me! But you don't need to hear it. Or see it. You can FEEL it. Over half pound of it. It is one big, shiny, darn good looking chunk of steel. It looks like a tank, feels like a tank, and it nearly weights as much... But now it does not look out of place with a suit or anything else for that matter. It looks like it can go anywhere, and do anything... and you don't even have to go to the gym anymore for your weight training

So here you have it. Three very different looks and personalities for one killer watch.

The AP Diver. I love this watch!

Appreciate the thread. But to be fair, to my eye, the brown hornback doesn't work with this watch. Maybe a grey hornback or navy blue?

Definitely gives the watch different looks.

Although my favorite by far is the rubber strap, but it's nice to have a change-up.

Thank you all for your comments!

Looks like most like it with the bracelet. And I have to admit after a few days wearing the bracelet it does give the watch a substantial wrist presence. And you do get used to the weight.

I think I am one of the lucky ones, as I was able to get the bracelet to fit perfectly by removing 2 links. Some have needed the 1.5 link for a perfect fit.

It is interesting to note that although the Diver with the bracelet is heavier than the Rolex Deepsea SeaDweller, it feels much more balanced. On the DSSD I had to have the bracelet almost skin tight for it to be in place, which meant adjusting the clasp several times a day. The Diver may not have the micro adjustments, but I have found that is not as critical to have as on the Rolex.
