Leather Straps
Hello from Long Island, NY:
I have a Rolex 18K Gold DayDate Model 1803/8. I had a Factory Service done at Rolex in NYC in 2012 for $871.00 and paid it because I knew it was needed and my watch was a gift from my Father. My watch still looks like new and is as accurate as ever. It is 44 years old. They even asked me if I ever wear the watch because it looked so new. I wear it every day and only take it off while playing golf, swimming, yard work, etc. For some unexplained reason, I will pay for that service (Even though I don't get it done every 5 years like they say) but I draw the line at paying what they want for a leather strap. I have 5 extra Rolex gold buckles and buy replacement straps at jewelry stores. We're having a big fancy family black tie wedding in 2 weeks, and I need to replace the summer brown strap with a new black one. Any suggestions before I run down to the local jewelry store? I believe the last one that I bought was Hirsch and I could use a Rolex buckle with it. Thanks. |

Ted su and de Luca straps are super high end and nice. They can do anything custom as well.

I use Drew Straps, love his personalized service and high quality of workmanship. Each strap is custom hand stitched by himself for each watch, it takes 6 weeks turnaround.
This will not make it to your fancy event.

Post some pictures, I have a 1960's DayDate as well. It was my fathers watch and now I wear it on special occasions. I currently have it on a Ostrich strap, Camille Fournet has some nice straps.

Nor does it sound like much of a thrift purchase.
