I just bought a Z series Daytona from a member here and he is in way better physical shape than me....so I need to add a couple of links. Is this easy and, if so, can someone point me in the direction of the diy instructions.

There are some instructions available.

Make sure you have the correct size screwdriver - IMO using too small a blade is the biggest mistake that you can make. I use the screwdriver tool that came with my SD - perfect size. You can buy them.
Add the links to the 12 o'clock side as this will usually make for a better alignment on your wrist.
Be positive and firm when unscrewing the link. If the watch is new there will be some white thread lock on the screw threads - warming the bracelet under running water before unscrewing the link can make it easier to release the screw.
You can put some tape over the end on the link for scratch protection if you are not confident for your first time at this and push the screwdriver point through the tape once you have the tip aligned with the screw slot.
I use a bit of Loctite 222 when re-assembling but make sure you don't get any inside the link tunnel as it will stiffen the link action - I put a tiny spot of the 222 only into the thread hole with the tip of a needle.
Don't be too worried - it is only a Rolex Daytona.

If you are in any doubt about your capability - take it to an AD.

Best mechanic advice I have to fit the situation is get the right tool to do the job. Masking tape takes much of the risk out too.
