Yachtmaster 1 Question

When did the Yachtmaster switch to the new clasp on the bracelet? I just got mine new this week and I'm wondering how long it sat at the AD. It was less money because of the clasp

Fall 2012, I believe. When the blue dial version was released (announced Basel 2012).

Thanks,
I think everything else is the same. It has the 5 year warranty. I'm not concerned, just curious.

Fantastic shot. Love the blue dial on the YM.

I owned a 16622 for many years and while I loved that watch very much, I was always puzzled as to why Rolex never outfitted it with the clasp they use on the Daytona. It just felt incomplete as the rest of the watch had solid links.

Now with the 116622, the YM is complete in my opinion.

It felt amazing - time to do a bit of reading, i cant understand why there is little talk about such a great watch imo, im not sure if its the price point or something else.

I tried on the YM1 about a year ago and the AD rep told me the blue dial had the updated clasp while the original configuration still has the older style clasp. So based on what she said your watch could have been sitting at the AD for an hour, months or years. No way to tell. That's if she was correct.

I have a 16622 and fitted a new clasp on the oyster bracelet and in addition bought a Super Jubilee.
All the new 6 digit references YM have the new clasp.
The newer references have the end lugs sitting flush with the case if compared with the older one.
Really like my YM and it is the most comfortable by far

That looks great on the jubilee! Won't have thought that I'd like that combo, it's pretty awesome.

She's incorrect. The platinum dial YM also has the updated clasp.

It's a beauty that's for sure
Smaller end links are the only other changes I can distinguish
Enjoy it

I may add a 116622 to the collection or possibly and more likely a 116655 and the 37mm for the wife
