For those considering the Tudor Black Bay
Last weekend I decided to pick up the Tudor Black Bay red as a weekend wear. Having owned a SubC as well as several datejusts I wasn't sure if I'd feel comfortable wearing a Tudor because of the BS psychological stigma that it's "not a Rolex".
Long story short, for those of you considering purchasing a Black Bay. It's a damn sexy watch. Full review - http://therevu.com/2015/11/14/tudor-heritage-black-bay/

The most impressive thing about the Tudor Black Bay, to me, isn't the aesthetics. Even though I am in LOVE with the look, the versatility is what makes this watch so special to me. I have worn it with the bracelet, with leather straps and today it is on the nylon strap. I am wearing it in the office with a sweater and slacks and it looks on point.
If I could only afford to keep a single watch, I am almost certain it would be the Black Bay. EDIT: I read your review, fantastic! Thank you! |

I keep mine on my desk even when I'm wearing something else, just to gaze adoringly at it.

Me too, when I first joined the forum and was buying my first Rolexes I couldn't get over the beauty of the BBR. It took sometime to get past the watch not being a Rolex; I love having it and it isn't going anywhere. One of these days I'll pick up the official strap for it (have the deployant already from a ranger strap). I totally agree on the versatility part of the watch. Seems that by adding a fabric strap to the box and making the model available with strap and bracelet they've set a great precedence for versatility.

Nice Review.
I have owned my two tone subs, 16613 & 16803, for a long time. Then I happened across TRF and started seeing the BBR. After seeing it at our AD, I really like it. Long story short, my lovely wife surprised me with one. The subs have mostly been safe queens since last May. Most versatile watch in my rotation. Bracelet, OEM leather, brown Isofrane, black Isofrane. |

Definitely a very nice watch. Have not ventured into the Tudor world yet, but the Blackbay would really tempt me!

Nice review. I agree the BB is a great watch. I honestly never paid attention to Tudor until the last year or so. My last trip to the AD a couple of months ago was the first time I tried one on. Was pretty close to grabbing a BB or Pelagos that day, but was still on the fence. When the BB black was released that was the final push to get one. Really has become part of my rotation and is great for a variety of occasions/wear. It is my only "modern" watch....

Great review Chris. Black Bay red is still my favourite of the three now available, it's just that little bit different and the dial in the sunshine is just a joy to behold.

BBR is a great watch, lots of value for the price. Sadly mine stopped getting wrist time and I sold it.

Funny that, I wasn't aware there was a "it's not a Rolex" stigma. I must have missed the memo. :)
I've had 3 Tudors and am very impressed with them. I'm going to get several more, just saving at the moment as I'm only buying BNIB from now on.

Wow, just when I think the BBN is the one to get, you go and spring pics of the red on leather. Amazing.

Oh I have also been in love with the red for years, just been caught up in the black lately. This thread was just a nice reminder that the red is also great.

Don't think about "it's not a Rolex" I have a sub in stainless and explorer 2 (still 3 years loan until it's paid!) and an oris big crown with leather strap. Enjoy your watches whatever brand. Who is to say your non Rolex is inferior, it's not at all. Tudor are great watches I would love one and the red with the leather is fantastic looking! Congratulations on owning one I think it's tremendous.
