In brief:
Rolex Datejust 1601 (1960-1983 manufacture) 1565/1575 movement screw down quickset crown plastic crystal fluted bezel "Rolisor" two tone Rolex "jubilee" bracelet It appears to have period-correct papers, warrant card, manual, and so on, which is always a great thing to have. The DJ is the most popular of all Rolex models and has remained essentially unchanged for 50 years. The dials are (I assume) Rolex original. I have seldom seen anyone show BOTH dials. If they are custom made, to some that would diminish the value of the watch. This may help: http://www.interwatches.com/rolex-history That's the basics. MANY others here can tell by the serial and papers what exactly it is by year of make and then tell you what should be correct for the watch. |

One correction to the above, it's a 16013 model; still a datejust, just a later model
than the 1601. Serial number of 9,453,xxx is approximately 1986 or 1987 so consistent with papers and purchase date. Bracelet is a 62523 jubilee. Looks good, although the settings on the champagne (gold) dial are odd; a few of the diamonds appear to be at odd angles (4,10,11); could be damaged or an aftermarket dial. Also looks like it could use a service; chips in the crystal, general wear. With the above numbers you should be able to search and find comparable values. It is not particularly rare, as rolexes go, but still nice example. |

Its just a DJ much like the millions of other DJs in this world today not sure what you mean by desirability if you mean collectible then not regarded as being collectible. If you mean how much is it worth well around the same as any other DJ of similar spec and year, perhaps a little more with all the bits like expired warranty etc..
