Bitten by the Speedy bug...but have a dilemma...

Looking to get my first Speedmaster, and for now, the only Omega in my collection...just don't know which one to get. I went to the AD today and they all sang to me...love the Speedmaster Professional with the sapphire crystal and transparent case back, love the classic and original looks of the Moonwatch professional with the hesalite crystal, and love the size, movement and date feature of the Moonwatch Co-Axial Chronograph with the 9300 movement. I can only get one...really undecided. Any and all suggestions are welcome! Also, is there any chance that the 9300 Moonwatch will be discontinued?

I would have gone for 3570 but preferred the practicality of the 3573 and wanted to see the movement. It may not be authentic but it's close enough for me.

If you don't mind the size, the 9300 has a lot to offer.

If only they had kept the same case as the Speedmaster Pro...

Only one moon watch? Go classic - get the hesalite

Got budget for two moon watches: get a vintage speedy AND get the 9300

Had both the hesalite and sapphire speedys and prefer the hesalite version. Love the warmth hesalite crystal.

I have owned both the 9300 and the Hesalite crystal 42 mm speedy in the last year and moved both of them due to band sizing issues. Cool watches and I like a lot of the details to both but trying to get the fit I need was not possible. I also owned the Omega NATO's for both and leather and the same story. I appreciate the history and the 9300 movement is great but the watches have to fit right no matter what. Also, if you are at an AD you are going to take a bath if you ever decide to try to move theses watches. You can find both discounted from our trusted sellers and other reputable dealer in the 30-40% mark and used for greater than that. Do a little research and ask the AD to size the band pre-purchase to see if you can get a good fit.

Omega has squeezed the margins from many of the AD's...what used to be an easy 30-35 percent is rarely more than 20 for new models I'm finding...



And to answer OP...I was considering the same thing...IMHO go old school pro moon with the manual wind and hes. Its such a fun watch and I wear it more than most of my other pieces even though its easily the simplest.

I have the 3570.50 (Hesalite) and have had the 9300. Love the 3570.50.

The 9300 is truly an amazing watch but ultimately the size was a problem for me. So be sure that the fit works for you before you buy. My iteration was the titanium blue, which was nice because it is lighter than the steel. As others have said buy right in this one, nothing close to retail and best case find a LNIB from a reputable seller.

Get the hesalite crystal. But instead of buying it from the ad. Why dont you buy one from a respected seller on a forum. Many great sellers with great feed backs so youll have no worry. The best thing is you save money.
