Icon5 I am looking for a white PM RO with bracelet

Why are my choices so limited? I need a white gold or platinum royal oak on a bracelet that has an automatic movement. Why doesn't AP do the 15400 in white gold? I can't spend 10M on a watch with diamonds or grand complications.

I think the best you can find is a second hand 25960bc.

The bracelet from the 25820 might fit the 15310’s case, but you’d need to ask AP if that’s the case or not.

AP does seems to not prefer white gold. Very few of their watches are made in white gold. Off hand, I can only recall a few.

they pioneered the ultra-luxury steel watch and selling the same models in a higher-end white metal could be seen as conflicting with or questioning the luxuriousness of the original design .. maybe they want to keep steel as the white metal of choice as far as the RO goes

if you look at their other (non RO) product lines they use white gold just as much as other golds

May I ask...why do you "need" white gold or platinum?

AP makes some of the most beautiful high end luxury sports watches in stainless --- which (as mentioned earlier) they actually pioneered the perspective.

There are various precious metal offerings (including white gold and platinum) -- but tend to be reserved for specific references--these precious metals also don't tend to have a large market following -- now YG, RG-- much broader market. This is really for most luxury watch manufacturers.

I tend to think about it this way-- from a business perspective, why would AP want to introduce a precious metal competitor to the normal (non-special run market) - that resembles the original - pioneered high end sports watch? (I know there are subtle color differences in the two metals - but most will never know the difference)

If you are looking for a precious metal luxury watch (not with many complications) with those specifications you may want to look at other brands.

Just my .02

Good luck!!

That makes sense. I just really like the heft and look of gold. RO is beautiful nonetheless.

I would say that the AP SS pieces with a full bracelet are hefty enough already...

Yes, agree with others, and also they also didn't release a full RG/YG version of the 15300, only on straps, and most of the gold ROO models are synonymous with straps rather than bracelets.
