Thoughts on this 1680

What I should pay? Non original band/hands possibly.

Heavy polished, missing pip, not original bracelet, replacement hands, should I go on. Really beat up. Pass!

I think you could do better unless it is selling at a smoking deal.

I agree. I think that's a Mk I dial, which is nice if original to the watch but the points brought up are valid- unless this is under 5k I'd pass.

Nice MK1 dial corresponding to the watch but bracelet not original and really beat up. Continue looking at least you are getting it for 4k :)

Well I got it and it'll be here next week. Any idea on sourcing a couple of hands?

Try here on the classified ads or vintage rolex forum for sale. Sometimes folks sell hand sets. Not hard to come by.

How bad is the band? You can have tightened by Michael young in Hong Kong. He is on the forum. Also if it's stretched. You can put on a nato strap until then. Polish crystal (less cyclops) with poly watch paste. You can find on Amazon.

Little polish and watch will look much nicer.

Recommend a service. Will be an excellent daily wearer. Congrats.

There was a member selling hand sets recently (he scored a ton of them) but the pricing was a bit out of line with the current market unfortunately.

They are not hard to find but chances of matching the dial are quite low when you do find them.

You ask for input, get a bunch of no's or only if well priced and still buy it

I like these well worn old timers. The band who cares through it away give to the homeless what ever it has little value.Use a leather band,a piece of canvas maybe newer solid link band.
The watch is cool! hands would be good. but even if you dont find just the right ones(hunting for them is fun to)
I think you will still love wearing this watch. I would. You wont be nervous about scratching or bumping it so now it is your daily partner.

I have had a couple like this and they spent more time with me than some of my fancier watches.

Just saying enjoy hunting fishing working playing with the kids, it will be with you
all day every day!

Merry Christmas!!

I feel like I stole the watch guys. It was too good a deal to pass up. Under $4k. I'll enjoy it for a while. Although I would like to find those hands. Any idea where to take it to get pressure tested. I want to wear it in the water.

I would lose the worn jubilee bracelet, polish up the crystal a bit and put a nice leather or NATO band on. It will look great! Congrats!

Congrats! Sounds like you got a great deal on a nice watch. With new, matching hands and a bit of polywatch it'll look great!

Finding the Hands themselves won't be that hard,Finding Ones that match your plots will be much harder.A skilled Watchmaker can take a set and color match them fairly easily though.

Great catch for the price
Would love it if you could post some pics of it.
39344xx puts it at the tail end of the red dial and beginning of the white.
Congratulations

Very nice watch. I like those watches with wear. Hey, is the band a 62510h? If stretched out you could easily get $300 on eBay for it. Should cover the cost of older hands. You should look to see if the last links are stamped with '50'. It could be worth much more

Hey thanks guys. The band is stamped 62510H. I don't see a 50 anywhere. The endlinks stamped 555

Certainly a steal! A nice piece with sky high wearability in my view
