Finally joining the 1675 club
Hey guy's I am finally on the path to ownership of my first 1675. It comes from a family members estate. So I have first dibs. Seems to be in very good shape with the the thick crown guards and lugs. It's a 1.8m serial. It does have a service insert to my knowledge. Seems to keep great time. It does have the original rivet band with 65 endlinks with a crisp rolex emblem on the clasp. It does have stretch. Maybe I'll send it to Michael. Next thing to do is source a fat font insert. Anyways I'm just happy to join the club. Any criticism will help.

Nice find. Looks to be in good shape. Agree on finding a fat font insert, that will add some vintage flavor. The rivet is a super score as they are hard to find now days and adds a lot of value. I sent a 66 7206 to MY and it came back like brand new. Highly recommended.
That's a beauty👍🏻

Congrats, coming from family makes it that much more special!
I would recommend getting the watch serviced, which will include replacing the crystal and you wont have to fork out money on a watchmaker a couple of times (to replace the crystal once and then to get it serviced in the future) - better to get it done right the first time. From the looks, it probably has not had a service in a while, there is build up on tube and around the rim of the case back where it meets the case. It will be good to go for many years to go! For bracelets, no other than MY. Can't go wrong there! |

Can anyone tell me if the insert is a red back or blue back by just looking at it?

I'd bet blue due to thin font. (Maybe springer will come along and correct me or verify) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pop the bezel to see the color...
Get a knife, put some tape on the blade, work it under the bezel near a lug and remove.. Once you figure how easy it is, you will be changing inserts for a living.. |
