BLNR questions - does it need service?
I have two issues with my BLNR. Does it need a warranty repair?
1.) The winding stem can be difficult to pull out to the final position where it stops the movement. It seems a bit off and takes a strong tug anytime you succeed (every time I do this, I'm sure I'm going to break the watch). Sometimes, it will not adjust to that final position regardless of how hard you pull and you have to put the stem all the way back into the watch and give it another go - you may or may not succeed and have to continue this process. It is by no means effortless. I've read some threads that say this is not all that uncommon for this movement. 2.) The watch gains a solid 5 to 6 seconds a day if I'm working, which I'm not pleased with compared to lesser brands. If I'm traveling, or extremely active, it can gain 10-15 seconds in 24 hours. Obviously that's out of COSC, but I have read differing opinions of ways to self correct this issue? Obviously I'm a newbie to Rolex, so opinions/advice are appreciated. I don't wear the watch often for these reasons and I'd prefer to wear the hell out of it. Sincerely, |

How long have you had it? (or how old is it?).
Self-regulation with overnight positioning doesn't work so well with the newer movements. |

Do you still have warranty?
Your AD should take care of this for you. |

If you're not happy, take it in and get it looked at. It should be better. I've had mine for 5 weeks and it's 7 seconds fast over that period of time. If you just got it, give it a month. My Yachtmaster was about 6 seconds per day fast at first. Now it's a steady 2.1 seconds per day according to watch tracker. I've had it for 2 months

Sounds like the timekeeping is off and should be easily remedied with a regulation.
I purchased a new TT GMTc in June of this year. I occasionally experience difficulty pulling the crown to the time setting position. Instead of pulling it really strongly, I push it back in, give it a wind or two and pull it out again. Usually works OK. I searched but didn't find the thread where this behavior of the crown on GMTs was discussed previously and several people reported similar function. Since you are likely going to send it for regulation, it's worth having the RSC or watchmaker check the movement for the crown issue. |

Mine is also hard sometimes to pull out. I just take my time and never thought it was really an issue.

Rolex crowns can be a bit finicky compared to more simple designs, but they do what they are supposed to do very well and that's to protect the interior of the watch from water intrusion.
Sometimes the problem is in simply developing a technique or giving it the time to loosen up a bit. Anytime you are having a problem with any product, the most logical thing to do is to take it to a professional for an inspection. A Rolex is no different.

My crown on blnr behaves similarly. Sounds like you could benefit from regulation though. My Cyclops is a little crooked too while we r at it
