Recommended watchmaker for vintage Omega service?

Hey everyone,

Since I got my new to me vintage Seamaster, it's loosing time. So far, it's lost 2 minutes in just over a week. I'm hoping it just needs a slight regulation, but if it needs a service, can anyone recommend a good watchmaker?

I have a 1965 vintage Speedmaster Professional 105.012-65. It went through a restoration at Nesbit's in Seattle about 8 years ago, their specialty is vintage Omega. For regular services on my mechanicals I use a local watchmaker and have been using him for about 15 years. Very knowledgeable and does fantastic work. You say it has lost two minutes over a weeks time. Did you check it daily at the same time to see how much time it loses over a 24 hour period to see if it is a consistent amount? Do you place it in the same resting position at night? My Speedmaster is consistent at +10 secs/24 hrs. I just hack it every morning with back pressure on the crown. If your time loss/gain is consistent over a 24 hour period it probably just needs an adjustment of the regulator on the balance bridge. I would recommend you take it a to a competent local watch maker and he could time it to check for time regulation, amplitude, and beat. If the time is off, it's a good possibility it's just an adjustment of the regulator. If amplitude and or beat are off, it could possibly be adjusted but would more than likely need a service, especially if it was of a low amplitude. The amplitude is the degree of arc the balance wheel makes and beat regards the arc being equal in both directions. Hope this helps a little.

I've also had excellent experience with Nesbits.

Cant vouch for Nesbits, but I recently had my 1963 calibre 600 Omega serviced by Dimitrie Vicovanu of Masters of Time in NYC. The watch came back to me running better than ever. If your not looking to find someone in TX, I would definitely give him a look.
