After flipping, how soon did you reacquire the same watch?

A question for those who have flipped a watch, only to reacquire it again sometime in the future for whatever reason. I'm curious, how long did it take you to reacquire the same watch?

Have flipped for the same model in better condition in the past so I guess the answer is immediately for me

Flipper

My biggest fear is regret so I don't. Actually I did dump a Seamaster GMT to make space for my DD but I don't think I can let go of an of my Rollie's

Good question. I have had many of the same refs, but since the 116600 was released, I had my first since release and sold it a good year later. I flipped through 4-5 watches including 3 beautiful vintage SD's befor returning to my all-time favorit again:

I had my 2nd 116600 about three days after flipping it, well technically I ordered it within 24 hour of selling my first!

Sellers remorse kicked in as I was wrapping up the watch to send to the new owner and by the time I was at the post office sending it out I had ordered another!

Never had that happen before and it's my current favourite so here to stay now.

Only ever done it once, and that was the old Sea-Dweller to the new ceramic version.

Time between sale and purchase was approx 3 years.

Not quite but close. I sold my TT SubC LB and missed the sunburst dial about a year ago. Then after seeing so many enabling shots, decided to get the 18K version. Problem solved.

Ive owned many, more than once but I've come to a point where I realize there's a reason I return to certain pieces. Now I focus on adding and not flipping.

Haven't looked back. Sometimes consider hulk again for a millisecond but it's fleeting.

There is a couple I would not mind trading up on but I just cannot handle the thought of taking such a loss on them. To pay $13,000 for watch only sell it for $9000 is very painful. For me at least.

Flipped and OP for a SubC and later rebought the same model but with a slightly different dial; it took about a year. I also flipped the SubC but for a different model (DJII).

OP Reborn...

OP Gone...

So far this hasn't happened to me. Once I let something go, I move on. There is a reason I trade and so far it's to move toward fewer pieces that I will enjoy long term.

I've done this more than I'd care to admit. And the time in between is embarrassing too. Seems I can't make a watch decision and stick with it.

Almost 6 months. I've had to let go of my beloved Sub-C LN, but then out of the blue, I've also had a chance to purchase the exact same watch back. Once in a lifetime that happens... :)

But that was the only time I've purchased something after flipping it. Every other case I simply let the watch model -- and in some cases the entire brand -- go and never looked back.

Good question, I flipped a GMT II C a few years ago and am now thinking of flipping the watch I flipped it for to get one back!

Oh the irony

I've bought and sold a number of watches but I've never bought the same model twice. When it's gone it's gone for a reason.
