Tudor big block 79180

Hi all, what's everybody's view on the '79180' big block? Good or not so?

Tudor big block 79180

Personally I love that watch! Still fairly reasonable price-wise, great bang for buck.

Not good, great is a better description. Looks legit from the limited view of one pic. Early 79180 w/ date window surround and angled hour markers.

Great watches. I just sold a very nice example today with a black dial and stainless bezel ring - circa 1992.

Thanks all! Im in two minds on the size for me! I like my '66 Sub. 7928 but those extra 2/3mm makes a difference. The watch has the box but no papers & strap, original case/dial & works spot on. So whats the general consensus on value guys?

Between $3K to $4K depending on service history and overall condition.

Great watch like them so much more than Daytonas. I have a Tiger big block.

Agreed. But your's is either a Tiger or a Big block. The Tiger endorsement came after the BB's.

Here's my 79180 just arrived from one of our most trusted sellers. The second shot shows the 79180 with one of its cousins, a 94210.
These watches are IMHO great values and have that classic old Daytona look. Super sharp on the wrist.

Nice pick up.
How is the date window aligned? Is date alignment and clarity different on sapphire vs plexi models?

I have two BBs, a 79170 and 79180, and both are very accurate and charismatic. The downside is they're expensive to service and like most chronographs are hard to read due to the busy dial. Some might consider them bulky but I find them comfortable to wear, even on my small 7" wrist. My two BBs and my Tudor Sub get more wrist time than my two Rolexes by a long shot.

If the price is right on the watch you're considering I don't think you will be disappointed.
