Customized Daytona to 6263-ish look
Dear all,
I recently happened upon a new offering from an outfit called Les Artisans de Geneva. To summarize, they take a new 116520 and modify it to look like a vintage 6263. http://lesartisansdegeneve.com/en/19...o-daytona-6263 Changes done which I like: - Pushers without screw down, more elegant and looks like early pre-daytona - Crown guard removed to mimic vintage look - bracelet Centre links from polished to matte - Bezel changed to Bakelite I am not a fan of the modern Daytonas partly because of the many high polish surfaces. But going vintage - costs aside, is scary because of the risk of parts changed along the way. One can say that this model has had many parts changed - but hey, at least they are upfront of what's been changed. 1.jpg Your thoughts are appreciated, but please be objective in your assessment. Thank you in advance, Quark |

I think it looks great but I prefer the screw down pushers as that's what the Big Red came with. What's it priced at?
This is my 16520 with a similar look. |

That looks great but seems like a long way 'round the barn.
Ky's custom is very nice too. I still prefer this. dP

THAT looks awesome! I could never get past the shiny bezel on the auto daytona and the polished surfaces on the 4130 equipped versions leaves me even colder. THIS watch is what they should have released. |

Well, if I had to choose, I'd go with the black dial. HOWEVER .... it's basically just an expensive knockoff, despite an authentic movement, case (excluding the back), and bracelet. If I wanted a 6263 knockoff, there are much cheaper ones out there.

Cool concept, but for the money I'd rather just buy an original 6239 or 6263.
