1966/67 5513 smudge crowns?

I remember when I got my 5513 the smudged crown stuck out like a sore thumb and I wasn't sure whether to keep or flip (as much as the newer service hands yes) but as the years have gone by I have grown to love it (also my eyesight has gotten worse)

But I would like to know or see of any other smudged dials on a 5513 from this era 1966/67?

I suspect perhaps the previous owner had the dial replaced at a service, it originated from the middle east so the sun/heat may have cooked the original (perhaps gilt dial)

A 66-67 5513 was born with a matte meter first dial.. exactly like the one you have.
It's not a service replacement.

I actually love your dial.. lovely patina

I would try and find tritium hands to replace those luminova hands.. you see them pop up from time to time for around $300-500

the differences in my opinion depend on the amount of ink on the pad ..
Dial very nice and absolutely correct fot the period...not a service replacement
Great dial and watch.. love it
