Vacation Rolex hunting

Well the wife and me went down the the Tucson gem show,,WOW for you people who like that kind of stuff it's really amazing and totally overwhelming you could spend 100s of thousands of dollars easy! Now for the Rolex part,,yes there where a few dealers that had high end watches but hells bells what a bunch of snake oil salesmen !! As I posted in an earlier post the wife said before we left that maybe I would find something,,,ya right ! I do have to say that there was a good 50+ watches a lot of subs of course and all were older T dialed but most had nice patina and yes not a box or paper to be found. As for prices and mind you these sellers are in the whole sale buildings I picked out a T<25 Pepsi and asked how much,,,$6500 ! I really did laugh out loud.I had pre loaded some of our for sale items on the site and showed him so he gets on the phone and in some language middle eastern of some type hung up and it came down real fast !! He claimed he had just started selling and had no idea what to sell them for,,sure.Went on to he next guy who said he was one of the oldest person in the LA area selling pre owned Rolex and he did know what he was doing,,just bad presentation and nothing had papers and no history known or offered. After he figured out I knew what I was talking about we had a a good exchange.Sucker fishing at it's best !!We're in San Diego now and yesterday stopped at Bob's Watches up in Hunting Beach area and met a real nice salesman named Larry he didn't have anything and I wasn' going to pay CA taxes any way.So that's all for now.Clark.
