That's a tough question to answer but my opinion is that vintage means the model is no longer in production.

Not sure, but I've heard some people here say around 30 years old is considered vintage.

By me
Vintage is considerd to be when a watch herage is shown in reasent models or/and materials not used same way as it was in the beginning
If a model still is up to present time then it's a year thing
The thing I referred to in my mind is that watches ones not in my reach like 30-40 years ago attract me the most

I guess there are many definitions possible, but a general rule I have seen quoted often on the forum here is that for collectors (sports models mainly) the first criterium is plexiglass (=vintage) versus sapphire crystal, followed by matt dials with plain hour markers versus the newer gloss dials with hour markers in a gold surround. There have been transition models that have sapphire crystal but still a matt dial (sub 16800 and SD 16660) in the first few years after they came out.

Personally, I find the plexi look more appealing as a "vintage" look, but in the end it is all a matter of taste and personal preference.

Well stated.

The thread needs pictures, happy to oblige. 5513 serial number in the 1.5xx range would certainly be considered vintage
