Great reference, especially with a gilt dial, but when the tritium discolors like that I always get nervous that moisture has gotten into the case. What do you think has caused that uneven discoloration on the tritium?

I don't really know the answer to that

but there exists tropical dial Rolexes and I believe this is one? Possibly from the heat of the sun?

I also think it's from long-term moisture damage. Would make sure there isn't also some significant corrosion on the case (especially the edges under the case back and between the lugs) and in the movement.

i like it but this is not tropical to me... the markers are discoloured by moisture intrusion that's all

I think it is tropical in the sense that the glossy black dial has turned to brown. But I agree about probable moisture damage (to the lume). By moisture I don't mean necessarily water intrusion, it might be just excessive and prolonged humidity without a well-sealed case.
