Los Angeles GTG

Hey I just joined and would love to meet fellow Rolex aficionados and owners. Lets organize a GTG. I am thinking somewhere in the San Fernando Valley.

You may need to be on the forum longer. Nobody is going to GTG with somebody who just joined and talks about a GTG on the first post.

Really? I'm new here so I don't know the rules. I did see the LA one that just finished and the picture. Looked fun, but I didn't know about it. Hope to go to the next one or even if I can start one that would be great. I have me and another rolex owner going. Hopefully more will come.

I need check the GTG subforum more often. We relocated from DC to LA last fall and I would love to meet fellow WIS. I'm in Westwood and as long as I don't have to meet people downtown during the week, I'm happy to go anywhere.

It was a lot of fun with Steve there! I learned a lot of of interesting things about the beginnings of TRF and enjoyed the company of all.

***** subscribed ***** Would love to get together with fellow WIS. My better half is studying for law school finals. Any minute I can be out of the house is a good minute. Stress levels are through the roof. We're in Westwood but happy to meet anywhere, especially on weekends.

When there's an official GTG im down. SFV or over the hill doesn't matter to me. Hopefully someone can put one together like they are going to do in Vegas. I hear they get to close the stores and look at watches privately as well as a hosted lunch or dinner by one of the ADs. That would be sweet to get in an LA GTG.

My schedule is flexible in May. Happy to help organize if somebody wants to get the ball rolling. Haven't been out much since we arrived in LA, though, and don't know many places yet.

We usually have the LA GTG Annually. I have PM'd Mark, who usually takes care of it, to see about having another sooner.

Does anyone know of a cozy restaurant/bar that has a semi-private area and doesn't get crazy busy? Not looking to buy out the entire place so we can have it to ourselves or rent a private room, just think it's not cool to whip out all our precious watches with other guests all around.

The last three I have been at, and the one before were at the Honor Bar in Beverly Hills. It has good food and service, parking is close, and there are various watch places with in walking distance. We arrive at 11:30 when it opens up so we have our choice of booths, are seated, and eating before the crowd takes over.

I have a bookmark for Honor Bar, been meaning to try it. Their chicken sandwich looks delicious. Did you guys go window shopping at any of the watch boutiques afterwards?

Steve was on limited time, so we did not. The previous time Mark made arrangements and we went to a few. There was even a Panerai Watch Boutique close by.

Another GTG would be great. This would be a good chance to stop in at the new AP boutique.

I wonder if we called the stores ahead of time to warn them about the incoming WIS mob if they were willing to host little half hour receptions each with product presentations and drinks.

I think any of us could have RSVP'ed for Vegas and gone ;) It was private in that you would have had to attend the meetup
