Explorer II Second Hand Luminous Dot Fell Off

The luminous dot on the second hand of my 1980's era SS Explorer II has fallen off and is floating around on the face.

TWBG quoted $90 to relume (plus $45 rt shipping). Would it be better to replace the second hand?

Also, any downside to continuing to wear the watch? Could the dot enter the mechanism via the date window?

Thanks for advice!

Fix asap. Cheapest & fastest is best for this type of fix.
