Just picked up my first Rolex!

Hello Everyone, excited to finally say that I picked up my first Rolex this week. Was torn between the Rolex submariner date vs no date and decided to go with the classic 114060...any advice on the best way to clean and maintain the condition?

Thanks everyone in advance for all the advice and happy to be part of the community!

Tony

Welcome and congrats on the classic modern Sub!
As for cleaning - warm water, soft toothbrush and soap.
Enjoy!

That was my first Rolex, too! Congrats on a classic piece. As for the condition, just wear it. If I'm wearing it daily, I will use a soft toothbrush and a touch of dish soap every week or two, but that's about it. It helps to be somewhat wrist-conscience, but the reality is it is going to pick up some scratches from daily wear. It simply means when you send the watch in for servicing, it will look that much better to you when it returns.

Great reference, congrats.

As far as cleaning, good old soap and water. Rinse and repeat several hundred times.

Great piece. A real classic. Soap and water. The Verat spray seems to make it extra clean.
Congratulations on a fine watch!

Just picked up my first Rolex!

Congrats. Great first Rolex. I used to be a "it has to have a date" kind of guy but the clean dial and crystal are hard to argue with.

And I am a believer in Vereat watch spray. Wait until it goes on sale though.
