With a real Tiffany-branded Rolex an authentic certificate stamped by Tiffany is what will help add a lot of value, of course. Perhaps some paper/certificate experts will be along to comment on the certificate, along with the dial. I have three Rolexes from around this time (late '80s-early '90s) and all have punched papers, but I think stamped papers were around then too. Not sure. Good luck!

...this one has another serial number (N4xx) , different from the one in 2008 (N3xx).
....may be this one is the last font in 1992? |

I am by far no expert..... But any Tiffany Daytona's I haver ever seen in person or photos where either Black writing on a white dial, or white lettering on a black dial. Again......just sharing what I have seen.

First off, USA warranty papers in the USA during the 1980s -90s were typed not punched. I am not familiar with warranty papers being punched during this time period within the USA - outside the USA, punched papers were found on warranty documents. Regarding this Tiffany warranty paper, if you send me the complete document number in the bottom right corner, I'll compare it to what I know for the production era pertaining to that number. One other thing about this warranty paper; beginning with the U serial numbers, Rolex changed the verbiage on the warranty papers to read - Rolex Watch USA, Inc. warrants the dependable functioning........... Prior to the U serial numbers, the warranty paper read - Rolex watch USA certifies this Rolex............... Beginning with the U serial numbers, at the top right side of the warranty paper, there was a printed (in green ink) notation for style number, serial number and dial. Prior to the U serial numbers, only style number and serial number were printed at the top of the paper (in green ink) and "DIAL:" was usually added (but not always) in typed black ink below the serial number notation. One more difference between the post-U serial number and pre-U serial number warranty papers is the font used to type the serial number and style number on the warranty paper. While close in style, there is a difference. The font style on this Tiffany warranty paper appears to be the style of font used on the pre-U serial number warranty papers - but this Tiffany warranty paper appears to be a later style warranty paper which would have had a different style font. (I believe the U serial number papers was the transition period for the two types of warranty papers I have discussed here, so if you have a watch with the U serial number, you could have either warranty paper.) U serial numbers were considered to have been produced approximately four to five years later in production than the N serial numbers. Personally, I have my doubts about this Tiffany warranty paper, but, as I mentioned earlier, it would be nice to know what is printed in the lower right corner of the paper. If anyone here has information that is contrary to what I have posted, please let me know.

Very interesting. And makes sense. My three Rolexes with punched papers from late-'80s to early-'90s, were all originally bought outside the USA: Europe, Caribbean and Asia. Great tip for authenticating complete sets from that time period. |
