My 1 month old watch is sweeping fast +10 sec.

My 1 month old watch is sweeping fast +10 sec a day.
I tried laying it on its crown,that did not work.

what should i do ?

Bought new from Ben Bridge jewelers.
It is a SS sub no date .

The watch is running outside the accepted standards for Rolex timekeeping, so I would contact Ben Bridge and ask for it to be regulated, its an easy job for them to do.

They strap it on a machine (vibrograph) which listens to the workings and counts the clicks of the escapement.

With this, the machine calculates the accuracy of the watch.....+ or - so many seconds within 24 hrs.

Armed with that, the watchmaker opens the caseback and rotates the micro-stella nuts on the balance wheel a set number of turns that corresponds with a correction to the time measured..

Takes less than an hour.........

I really Want to take it to RSC in Beverly Hills but i cant be without it. I will miss it to much. I almost want to buy another one for back up.

Why not give it a few months to fully break in, then have it regulated???
My sub that was new this past Feb is doing the same thing. I figure I'll get it taken care of within the two year waranty.

Good advice give a month or two first if no improvement like others have said take it to be regulated.Now if your watch is 10 seconds out everyday then you have a very accurate watch.The most important thing with any mechanical watch is consistency,regulation is a very simple process to get it back to within the COSC SPEC.

I went through the same thing with my SD when it was brand new. I gave it a couple of months to settle in, without any difference. It was running about +30/day. No AD would touch it while under warranty, but I was able to send it to the RSC in NY for free. After about 3 or 4 weeks, I got it back, and for awhile it only gained about
+0.5/day. Unfortunately, a few months later, it started gaining all kinds of time again. I sent the watch in, came back well-regulated, and now my SD is gaining +6/day, barely within COSC specs.

Despite this, I still enjoy the look and feel of the watch, and it is very consistent. I'll send it in for regulation in awhile.

Bottom line: the watch is represented to function within COSC limits and it should. You don't have to settle for less. It's worth the wait when you send it in.

Mine did the same thing I gave it some time and it is maybe = or - 2 seconds its so small it really doesn't matter...

wow +30 sec ,i would be trippen !

i really thought Rolex were to be accurate ,
but i still think they are some beautiful watches.

Mine had a strange behavior when it was about accuracy and i remember that the first 4 months sometimes it was losing a couple of seconds and sometimes not losing any seconds at all

After the fifth month is settled down at losing 1 second a day and that has been happening for 2 months now

Some watches need more time to break in just give it some time

Gaining time is much better than losing cause you will never be late

In my expirience with any modern watch, the break in period is about 1-3 days. The high beat movements are accurate pretty much out of the box. If anything you may notice a 1-2 second change , but 10 sec is way out of specs, have it regulated ASAP IMO.
