Icon5 Hi I'n new to the AP Forum and Had some Newbee Questions

I would like to Acquire an AP one day and Wondered if anyone can give me some tips, or advice?

I'm more of a Sporty guy, so anything along the Sporting Models would be great!

Sporty will be an AP ROO, if buying a pre ceramic model I would go only for one that still have the warranty (if you are going to buy preowned) since self repair costs from APSC are quite expensive. Now on the AP ROO there are plenty to choose from, depending on colors and materials that you are looking for.

Check out the 15400 as well, you might surprisingly enjoy it more than the ROO.

I got the 15400, love it, but if you're super active and you're worried about scratches I would say get a ceramic. I kinda wish I did but not really cause the RO is so pretty haha. I guess I need to save for a ceramic one now.

In the AD I remember thinking the diver was slightly more comfortable, but fell in love with the grey ROO so I knew it would always hang over me if I didn't get it.

When I got the ROO I forgot all about the diver being more comfortable, and was just thrilled to have my ROO. A couple weeks in a ordered the grey rubber diver strap from APSC and I remembered how comfortable the diver strap was!!!

Anyway, this is the way to go. The rubber strap is much more comfortable than the hornback and super versatile. The color is also spot on.

Hornback wasn't horribly uncomfortable and I do love the way it looks, but the diver strap is a home run!!!

Here are some more pics...

Such a great combo and the the grey diver strap is more flexible/pliable/comfortable than the normal black diver strap. I think the grey themes with grey rubber strap and diver tang is the best 42mm ROO right now.

Hello and welcome to AP,

Last year I purchased my first AP. My suggestion is to take your time and try as many models/sizes/colors as you can. You may be surprised how different they look in person and on your wrist. I have a 6 & 1/2 inch wrist but I can easily wear the 44mm ROO as I have a wide wrist, while others with similar sized wrists may not be able to pull it off. Make sure you like the feel of the watch on your wrist. If you are close to any of the AP boutiques (Bal Harbor/NYC/Vegas) I suggest visiting them.

I ended up buying the 42mm Grey themes titanium ROO on a bracelet and I love it. It feels great on my wrist. I can wear it all day and never feel "wrist fatigue." It looks great sporty or dressy, but I tried on a ton of watches before deciding on this one.

Depends on your comfort level, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from one of the trusted sellers here, as you can save some serious cash.

Good luck and enjoy the hunt!!!!!!!!!

If you can't find your way to a 44mm...

Any 42mm with ceramic pushers is a great option...add a bracelet for versatility and you're good to go:thumbs:

Thanks for that! I just purchased a Smurf, and it will be my first time wearing such a nice watch... As far as comfort goes, how does it compare to the smurf...? or any Rolex Sub i guess....
