Icon14 Do you ROW?????

Or do any other sort of exercise? I search for a fitness/exercise thread and couldn't easily find one though someone else probably can. Anyway, I'm guessing that in this seemingly tight knit, yet distant, group, there are a number of us who make it a priority to try to be fit/healthy. Personally, beyond my plethora of stretches and body weight exercises, I indoor row. Sorry no great rivers by me. I'd like for this to be a spot where we can give each other pointers, new ideas, discuss equipment, goals, etc...... what do you guys think????

I'm a runner and have done some rowing in the past. Planning on doing my first marathon this year and maybe a few ultras in the future. We'll see.

I'm not a very fit guy but I do like to do some indoor rowing. I have a Concept2 rower at home. I think it's great exercise but find it very challenging. I definitely think it's the hardest workout of any cardio/exercise machines. It's a fantastic work out. I go through phases on it but when I am doing it regularly I try to do 10k per day. 5k in the morning and 5k in the evening. That is much more than enough for me haha

I have a full gym in my house. I never use it. My wife tries a lot more than me. My job keeps me fit so I really don't want to to do more exercise. I used to enjoy weightlifting and more recently running.

I have been rowing or sculling since I was about twelve; on and off, due to other commitments and weather conditions. I try to scull every morning while the lake is like glass, and row from six to twelve miles. It has been a secret passion and love of mine since I rowed my grandmother each summer night after dinner.

I row a lot because I do a ton of cross-fit.

So I suppose I do a bit of everything because it changes up, all the time.

I indoor row for 30 minutes every day followed by 30 minutes on the eliptical...together I burn between 650 and 700 calories an hour. I love to row.

I live on Galveston bay.

I have a kayak and try to row weekly.

Lol, nothing like an incoming storm on your tail to get you rowing.

Bodypump is a 50 minute full body workout at my YMCA, it is basically 50 minutes of cardio with light weights. I counted reps one time a think it was around 600/650. By the time your done your muscles are screaming, plus your drenched in sweat.

I am 53 and like to watch the new young guys come in, they always grab the heaviest weights and most all switch them out by half-way thru class. Class is mostly women but it is great workout, and I was heavy into free weights when I was younger.

I have the Oxbridge Rowing Machine at work, and I really like using that. I really should use it more frequently, but I'm on it about once a week.

I swim a mile of laps 5 times a week. I've been doing it for over thirty years. No trauma on the joints and works most muscles.

Have access to a heated lap pool in the winter and have a "swim in place" endless pool for the summer.

Great physical as well as mental therapy. Really pumps out the endorphins.

I like to run, but I have flat feet and hyperpronate, so my knees dislike running. Since 1989, I've used a Nordic Track ski machine. It's a great total body workout, and the leg and arm resistance can be turned up as high as you can tolerate. I also lift light weights, all with the goal of doing what I want physically without getting stiff.

I also skied (downhill) at our local ski area 49 days this year, anywhere from 6-12 hours a day.
