First impressions: My new Datejust

Hello all,

I received my new Datejust on Friday and wanted to share a few first impressions of it after my first weekend of wearing it.

1) This is absolutely the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. Period. Nothing even comes close, it practically disappears on your wrist and feels fantastic.

2) I have the silver dial, domed bezel, and oyster bracelet model and it looks great with everything. Before purchasing the DJ I was concerned about it being too dressy but with the oyster bracelet it definitely has a sporty look and works great with casual and dressy attire.

3) Most people will be shocked to hear this but I flipped my 114060 Sub to purchase the DJ and I have ZERO regrets. I loved the Sub and it really was great but where I live they are a dime a dozen and plus I missed having a date function. Finally, strangely enough I found it sort of uncomfortable on the wrist and the DJ definitely fixed that.

4) The 36mm size is great on my 7" wrists. This was my primary concern prior to purchase but it honestly doesn't feel much smaller than the Sub and really looks classy. I see so many people wearing pizza pan watches on their wrists and I am happy Rolex is sticking to conservatively sized watches.

I've shared some photos in other threads but here are a few of my favorites:

It looks great on you, I actually had a thought about flipping my 114060 to get the new DJ 41 but I couldn't do it and wouldn't because I just love my sub. This one stays with me until the end

I almost want the datejust 2 because a 34-36 look too dainty on my wrist being a bigger guy.

I also dislike the cyclops. The service center in San Francisco for 200$ will remove it or use a different crystal so it's flat. That's the only thing holding me back!

My silver dial 116200 says hello!

Gotta agree, this watch is both beautiful and versatile.

Congrats! That exact model comes close to perfection. I look at it on my wife's wrist every day and wish that our wrists were the same size so I could wear it.

That is beautiful! I'm thinking I should buy another DJ to replace the one that I foolishly sold.

I've always found the Datejust to have more depth visually to it than Subs. Obviously both spectacular pieces, but the Datejust just pops.
