Clearance from Wife

So recently I got a bonus and would like to spend a portion on a new incoming. That said I am looking in the price range of under 4k. I currently have a 114060 and a 6.7 inch wrist.

Here are the contenders:
Pelagos blue
Air king 114200 blue dial
Explorer 1 36mm
Tudor black bay, red, blue or black
Tudor black bay 36

What do you guys think? What would compliment my subc the best?

I really like the pelagos despite the case thickness. I can wear a 50 mm lug to lug so no problem there.

Another vote for the Pelagos...a lot of watch for the money, IMO.

I'd go with an Explorer. You already have a bigger diver and that would slip easier into various occasions, let alone it's a classic. Also, I'm a big fan of an all black collection.

If date function is not an issue, black bay red, rose dial, on the leather strap.
Otherwise I concur with those voting for the pelagos.

I'll say the triple B. Add a retro look to compliment your Submarniner C.

Out of those choices, I personally would choose the pelagos for several reasons. That is me though, in the end you need to live with it ( or sell it to me if you change your mind). The pelagos wears very nice, I had the black version.

Out of your options, I'd go either Tudor 36 or explorer 36. Although I'd recommend looking into a 36mm OP with a blue or silver face.

My wrist is 6.75" and I bought the Pelagos before it hit US shores. Since I couldn't handle it first, I bought it without trying it on. It was comically large on my wrist, and way too tall. I immediately flipped it. It lasted 4 days.

Did you try on the Pelagos or are you just eyeballing it from pics online?

Based on what your wrist can "pull off" and established budget, I say get the Pelagos.

Either the Explorer 114270 or BB36. I usually like to fly under the radar, PCL is too blingy and cyclop just screams Rolex. Also the Pelagos at 42mm is just too big for my taste plus I'm not a fan of any titanium cases.

Edit: looking at your list none of them have PCL or cyclop so great selection there.

I agree that trying it on is important, as with any watch. I have a similar wrist size (6.75-7) and it fit me great but I also have a larger flat area on top of my wrist. Not sure if that makes sense, but wrist circumference alone does not show the entire picture, some have more rounded wrists and in that case watches of larger proportions are harder to pull off.

My flat back of the wrist makes a 40mm watch look like I am wearing a women's watch and that it is stretching to cover my wrist, but on many with the same size wrists a 40mm looks perfect.

I would say, first decide if you'd like a blue, or a black dial. If blue, then I'd go with the AK, and if black, the Explorer. I would also consider the new OP. I know it's a little out of your price range, but the thought might be worth entertaining. Good luck !
