is it my eyes or are some bezels darker than others on the 50th sub, did the aluminum just fade over time or did they darken/lighten up with production? If they did change with production could someone provide me the seriels for light and dark. Much appreciated. thanks guys

Yes, the shades of green on the bezel insert has changed throughout its production years although I don't believe the changes were tied to any serial changes. Someone with vast knowledge will be along to clarify.

Things are more perplexed in the light of bezels fading with the passage of time. Late production examples like M series LVs seem to have a darker green hue though..or maybe it is because they have not faded enough yet :)

Generally the Y and early F serial numbers have a lighter lime green looking bezel. After that the slightly darker green bezel was in production. This is a rule of thumb not a guarantee as I have seen some variations in the shade of green used on the green bezels in later production versions.

I have seen 2 different Z serial inserts with 2 different shades of green - lighter vs darker and depending on the amount of light exposure I think over time. The older Y to F serial is another shade with slight yellowish tint or lime like. All charming.

It makes sense that a Z could get the older or newer style. I've seen the same on D serials. I've never seen anything but the new/darker color on M serials, however.

Much prefer the lighter, lime green myself. So nice.
