"Vintage" Diver Incoming!
Ok, this is really exciting. This is my all time favorite design in Omega's diver family, but it's a sixties watch. Damn. How do I get around that...
You see, I love the model, case curves, sword hands, overall aesthetics. But I really like to purchase new pieces. It's not a dislike for vintage, but a preference for modern, as it's more practical to me, with all the caveats in the vintage market, maintenance, etc. How do you get the best of both worlds, then? Well, this watch is pretty much the answer. Built from 100% original NOS parts (including the 565 caliber), it delivers the aesthetics with the modern convenience. I got it with the 1171 period correct bracelet, but this watch really shines on a nato. I have been really gravitating towards Omega recently... |

I have all but the case sitting in my drawer right now...
Did you opt for the white date wheel? It is black with white text on the 166.024 And how about that lume! It's nuclear! Congrats! I'm jealous because I've had mine (less case) for years now. |

I also bought the 1171 bracelet, but this watch just begs for a nato... you gotta finish yours! |

I've been looking for a case.
They come up too high time to time so I'll either bite the bullet one time or let what I have go. It's listed in the for sale section now. The dial hands and date wheel are all installed on the movement. I even have the original warranty book from the movement (from another watch donor). I even have the correct end links and NOS Omega case clamps. The case clamp screws are odd s well- very small compared to Eta... |

I check out watchco I from time, their prices have shot up over the last couple of years, great concept for those who don't want to walk into the vintage mine field.
Great looking watch!

Ok. I admit, I did not read in full. Was just pulled in by the pics.
Now that I've read this through, I've got to see if I can find something similar. Wow.

Is it possible to get these dials and inserts with tritium instead of luminova?

Seth, you should shoot Marcus, watchco's owner, an email. When I got mine, some 3 weeks ago, they had the last two sm300 dates in stock, I purchased one. Pm me if you want his email.

I wear mine on a NATO as well, either orange or black.

Looks great. I find it very surprising that - if I understand correctly - Omega still manufactures these parts.
