Should I sell one of my Turn-O-Graph's

Greetings all!

I have two SS Turn-O-Graph's. One white (95%+ condition, box & some remaining stickers), one black, (100% condition, box & papers stickers complete).

On occasion, I wear the white one.

I have an opportunity to purchase a new SS Daytona (white) and wonder if I should part with one of the TOG's to help with the acquisition of the Daytona. Do you think the Turn-O-Graph's will ever appreciate?

Appreciate your thoughts...All the best!

Sell...put the Daytona in your rotation with the proceeds.

It depends on which bracelet you have on your TOG's.

Everyone needs at least one Rolex on a Jubilee bracelet for dress occasions. If the White or Black TOG is your only Jubilee, I'd keep it, different look/occasion watch than your upcoming Daytona.

For me, a White TOG on Jubilee is the perfect compliment to a Sub Date on Oyster. It's sort of an "opposites attract" kind of thing. White vs. black, Jubilee vs Oyster, Dress vs. Sport, etc. I'm not a Datejust guy, but the red accents on the white dial makes this DJ about the closest thing to a "sporty dress" watch one can get.

A note on appreciation: The Rolexes that do the best historically decades down the road seem to be a) limited production due to relative unpopularity, and b) still attractive despite the unpopularity. The TOG certainly qualifies on both counts.

I agree. I have the white dial ToG on a jubilee and find the watch very striking. So I mbe biased but I would probably sell the black. Not sure if they will ever become sought after but if the trend is now moving back to smaller than larger (Apple iPhone) the sportiness of this "Datejust" could make it become attractive.

Thank you for the great feedback. Both are on oyster bracelets. I prefer the white, but regrettably, I don't have the papers. Whereas, with the black, I do.

If it is going to be a wearer and not be flipped, keep the white. Black will be more valuable with all the papers anyway once you sell.

I'd say yes just because the TOG isn't my favorite.

I'm going for my second TOG. Hunting a white dialed with oyster bracelet! Don't sell, keep both!! It's an amazing watch.

Hell yeah...can't speak to the appreciation of the TOG but I would if you get a reasonable deal financially (certainly do not pay a premium for a new SS Daytona).

Two white dial SS watches kind of diminishes the variety. If you have to sell one, dump the white. Just my opinion, but I would want at least one black dial SS sport watch in that collection. Can't loose either way, all great watches my man.

Thank you all for the great feedback.

Why is it that when considering spending money on a new watch that you can easily contemplate discarding a watch that you have, but once the new watch is acquired, you justify keeping the watch that gave you rational for purchasing the new?
