Gold on SS Rolex Watches

I have a bit of a dilemma. For religious purposes, I cannot wear any gold. However, I have come to find that many of the SS Rolex models (Submariner, Yachtmaster, GMT Master II) do in fact contain gold. The hour markers are in fact 18kt gold.

My question for the greater audience is whether there is any Rolex model that has no gold at all on it. Maybe the 116520 SS Daytona? The Milgauss?

Someone also told me that the Rolex crown on the dial is in fact gold. Can someone definitively confirm or deny?

They make all the hands out of white gold as well.

Please, if you don't mind, educate me. I'm very interested to learn which religion has such a rule.

Some owners have said if the gold is not touching your skin it may be allowed. And if it functional and not decorative such as on the hands for corrosion etc. Maybe check that out.

I am Muslim and yup, Islam has the rule of men not being allowed to wear gold. :)

I think I recall someone having a similar dilemma a few years ago. He spoke with a Muslim leader who told him that gold was okay as long as it had a function, as Neil already said.

Actually on the Milgauss, is the lightning hand and the hour markers gold too?

What about the polar explorer II? What are the black hour markers made of? Then again, the hands are still gold, but serve a purpose.

One of my captains at work is a practicing Muslim. His Rank insignia is gold plated, yet he wears it because it serves a function.

I am not Muslim EUS and I certainly don't want you to wear anything that makes you uncomfortable, but from what I understand, the Gold and Islam issue relates more to being ostentatious(?). I.e. "Showing off." If the Gold itself is a tool, serves a purpose then it is acceptable. Again, I could be way wrong and don't mean for you to interpret your religious beliefs, but when I was in the UAE I saw a LOT of Rolexes being warn by Muslims. I THINK, I even saw some YG models...

However in Saudi Arabia and the UAE I see many Rolexes on men.

I discussed this with some Muslim friends there and they said (as TheVTCGuy said), it has to do with being ostentatious. White gold and platinum is usually their choice.
