Watch box?

Any recommendations on watch boxes to keep your collection together? Solid wood boxes or travel cases?

Lots of options. I like the WOLF cases, travel rolls, and winders. For a single travel case Oakley Watch Vaults are the best but they stopped making them so they are difficult to find. The next best and similar thing is a Casebudi.

I use a Pelican 1470 that I've configured for 18 watches. Works nicely for me.

TBH, I'm not totally comfortable posting a pic of the majority of my watch collection online. If you go over to WUS, there are long threads showing shots of similar set-ups where I got the idea for this.

That said, here are a couple pics showing, at least, the TRF relevant portion of my collection.

I like the idea... So you just use their default pre cut foam insert?

Yup. Pick-and-pluck. More perforated than pre-cut. Just pull out whole sections at once and you can reuse them as the pillows for the watches by removing one row to make space for the bands to wrap around.

Enjoying all the suggestions as I too am looking for a 5-box case. Keep the suggestions coming.
Regarding the Oakley Vaults, they are great for travel and are serving as my current watch storage solutions. I bought one from an Oakley retail store recently so they definitely still have/make them.

Try looking at this http://m.ebay.com/itm/400241885265?_mwBanner=1 I understand there is a hate of ebay on this forum, however i own this case and i can testify that it is amazing craftsmanship. It looks beautiful and commands such a presence in the room. Unfortunately the back spaces are kind of hidden and a little difficult to reach, but still can function (not a problem if you dont have more than 9 watches). However, still i believe this is the best watch i have seen by far quality wise, size wise (it's huge) and price wise.

Definitely solid wood, unless you need to travel. Otherwise, well-worked solid wood makes all the difference.

Stumbled across this guy's collection and watch box in Germany:
http://uhrforum.de/officine-panerai-...0356-a-t253379

He told me his watch box was made by Hellermann & Company (hellermann.com). Had been in touch with them for the past week, trying to work out a custom offer. It's four-digit, so not for the faint-hearted.

Currently use my watch winders in turned off state for holding watches. Nothing wrong as it keeps them secure and undamaged. Here's the big one. The small one still runs but hold only four watches.

I use a Pelican setup too. This is a 1200 model box and fits six watches nicely :)

The more I think about it the more I like the more discreet storage solutions. Watch rolls, Oakley Vaults/Case buddi's etc. are nice. I have a very nice Buben & Zorweg 6 watch box but I don't like to leave it out so it kind of defeats the purpose of it.
I think when it comes to watch storage Buben & Zorweg are hard to beat. They have one 10 watch box that I absolutely love but I don't think I'd ever get it as I wouldn't get to leave it out and see it every day as it was meant to be used. It's too expensive and too good looking to just leave in a safe all day.
