Crown tube? Spacer? Black Bay 36 eyesore!
Anyone know what this little fooker is doing on the new BB36? I've seen it described as a spacer and a crown tube. But still no clue what it does or why they have to make one that sticks out so far from the case!

It's one of Tudor's design elements the last few years. It's on all the Black Bay models, and also on the Ranger. I'm not a fan of it either.

It actually looks quite good in the flesh - I find it to be a rather tasteful touch.

I think it's tasteful on the bigger watches... Not sure about the 36mm :/

Shame ... At least the bezel on the BB seems to counteract it somewhat. Not sure the same can be said for the BB36 or the ranger |

It's there to make the crown easier to grasp. Crowns that snug against the case can be a bear to get ahold of sometimes, so it's not just aesthetic, it's smart.

I'd have to see it in person as it certainly looks unappealing in the pics.

If kind of like that it matches the bezel color on the BB. Especially on the red. On the ranger I don't mind as it is stainless and kind of cool.
I think that on the BB36 they should have got rid of it or slimmed it down dramatically. Not sure why I think that, just do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
