Great watch! I am a fan of only two of the gold Panerai models, both Radiomirs. This beauty and the 197. Wear the 231 in the best of health!

Panerai uses two types of dials, painted and sandwich. The painted is self explanatory, numbers and letters are literally luminova painted on the dial.

The sandwich dial is just that. The dial has the letters and numbers cut out of it, this is placed over a disc painted with luminova. The crystal is the top layer, then the cutout dial, then the luminova disc thus the "sandwich".

If you look, you can see the sandwich on TswaneNguni's 231.

I hate you. You have no right to post pictures of a watch that make me want to get such a hard to get, beautiful and exquisite piece.

Shame on you.

Why ,thank you Dick !! My pleasure !!

What do mean hard to get ? Not that hard to find from an AD.1000 in 2006 and 500 in 2007.Production numbers for this year,I am not sure. Now and then on the used market too.
I know a TRF member who just bought one and is waiting upon its arrival.Obviously I am not going to spoil his fun by saying who it is .... You will have to wait and see !!

Put a decent strap on it, and then you'll be cooking.

Oh the OEM strap is pretty decent.I think its a perfect match for the rosegold.I do agree that they can sell it with a decent length. The OEM length,a bit short for my taste. In future I will order a XL of the same strap for the 231.
