Roulette Date Wheel

What do you guys think of the roulette date wheel ?

I realy like it on the Datejust - its something a bit different. I understand it was re-introduced as a homage to the 50's Datejust's which had this feature.

Am I right in thinking the Roulette wheel is not "standard" on the DJ and has to be requested. Does it make the watch more difficult to order or appreciably add to the cost (I can't imagine that it would but you can never tell with Rolex) ?

By "Roulette Date Wheel" I mean the date alternately displaying in black and red - I think its termed as a Roulette Date Wheel.

David,

Wish I could help you with this, I don't know if you can still order these or not......Personally I think the roulette date wheel is cool.

I know that the TOG comes with a red date and I have been tugged just by that alone.

I think that a T-bird bezel, roulette wheel, dauphin hands on a SS black dial DJ would be killer.

You can get all black, all red and black/red datewheel to a DateJust.

Here is my custom with a all red datewheel.

interesting you mention that about the roulette wheel because the rolex I bought last week for my dad (pictured here) had this feature and when the next day the date turned red I was like what the hell? I didn't expect it... I believe on mine the even dates are black and odd dates are red.

I've seen both side by side in AD's. Not hard to get at all.

Thanks everyone for the replies and the fantastic pictures that you posted. It seems as if the roulette date wheel is available but is not a standard feature. I am going to make some enquiries of AD's and when I order my DJ I think I will ask for the roulette wheel - I think the red looks stunning, particularly on a white dial face.
