Any watches that you have sold and re purchased?

I feel like the second time around you are able to appreciate and value a watch / item more then the first time around after coming back to it!

Who has stories to tell of a rolex or watch they sold and missed enough to repurchase again?

10 years had one for 7 years and got TRF bug and went through many SS sport models. Then missed the classic Romans look, found another but it was older one so flipped for newer version wore it three years. TRF big bit again and flipped for a sub. Still couldn't compare to classic Romans I had worn so long. so back to Romans for 4th time. Always white and always 16200, (like the sportiness of the oyster bracelet and the class of the white Romans. Jubilee makes it too dressy for me).

I've sold a Milgauss, that although it is not my next purchase, will definitely be back in my collection someday.

No not yet. I sold my TT Daytona, and when things calm down, I expect to get a new SS ceramic version.

Sounds like me. I think I've re-bought just about every Rolex in the professional line. I've gotten much better over time though and I'm more of a keeper now.

Yes, my first Rolex was a TT Daytona 116523, which I really loved wearing. I kept it for 4 years, but thought I "needed" to get a Panerai that I couldn't live without,so I flipped it. Ha, what a mistake. And so after 5 years of the Panerai, a brand I have an axe to grind with, I took a huge loss and flipped it, and got another TT Daytona 116523; a model I missed wearing. But by the time I bought my new one, I ended up paying $5,000 over the price of the original one to boot.

Yes, Subs, Daytona's, Day Dates. Three times seems to be my magic number that I either keep it or get over it. Does it cost some money to flip, sure. Buy right, sell right and it works out. A fun hobby.

I wish I could form an emotional connection with just one of them but I can't.

I sold a Black Bay Blue to help finance my Explorer. Hated to let it go as I really liked that watch and promised myself that I'd eventually get another Black Bay.

In the interim the BBN was introduced which is what I would have gotten initially had it been available. It's now being held for me and I'll have it in a few months.

Haven't yet, but have thought about the explorer 1. But I guess I feel that once it's sold, that's it.

YES!

IWC Mark XVI.. I think I've bought this watch 3 times. Sold it again. Clearly doesn't want to stay with me.

IWC 3568-07 Aquatimer (orange boutique édition). I sold this watch and bought the exact watch back. Found it after it transferred a few different hands. Happy to have the exact one back.

16710 .. Again, bought back the exact watch I sold.

I'm sure there'll be more ;)
