Thoughts on my Tudor Day-Date

I have been wearing my Tudor DD pretty much ever day for the last week, and every day I like it less and less. The reasons are one that it is too small but this I kind of get used to, but I am 6'4" 220lbs with a 8.25 wrist and 38mm just looks funny to me. I am used to a 44mm and that is why I gave it a week before I really wanted to make up my mind.

But the size is not the real issue. It is near impossible to read with a quick glance. I cannot just look down and know the time. I usually just do a quick glance down and know what time it is, but not with this one. When I put back on my Victorinox today it was such a relief to be able to quick glance again.

I will be keeping the watch as it is a family heirloom, and will get it serviced as soon as I can, but I think until then it will be sitting in a box. I feel as though I will be wasting such a great watch that someone else could enjoy, but I could never sell it.

One thing about this watch is it has helped me know more securely what I do and dont want in a watch when I go to put real money down on one.

For reference this is the watch:

And my trusty Swiss Army:

Daffy, you're pretty philosophical and contemplative for a Wednesday night. Have you thought about donning a toga and placing grape leaves in your hair? Seriously, it's all good, Tudor Boy.

Great looking watch..

You'll be glad you kept it .... Looks like the perfect dress watch to me.....

I still wear this 46 year old watch of my fathers when the time is right..
