Which references? 5 or 6 digits?
GV? Polar?

Big difference in feel and size and price between the 16570 and 216570 but either makes for a great daily wear.

I have both...but go for the explorer first. The gv is better part of a collection/rotation.

I would definitely try both on. For me the explorer 2 would be an everyday watch and the gv one for the weekend.

As a one only piece the Explorer as part of a collection the Milgauss. Both are really nice.

The Explorer II. EASY. Why? Not enough people on TRF mention this...the Milgauss, while a handsome and obviously a good quality watch, is IMO not suitable for everyday wear. Why? It's very very top heavy...I had one and it felt heavier than the Rolex Seadweller I had at the time. Felt like A BRICK ON THE WRIST. Which was weird for a non-sporty watch. It may not feel too bad when you try one on at the AD....but, at the end of the day with one on the wrist, your arm is going to feel tired. At least mine did.

I have a milgauss, and looking at a 16570 if I were to buy another Rolex. I don't wear my milgauss daily, and would purchase the 16570 to be a daily wearer. The 216570 to me it too big for my wrist.
I guess it would depend on your style, definitely the EXII would be more casual, which appeals to me and how I dress daily. |

I'd go for the Milgauss. I've had the clear crystal black dial and z blue versions. I've also had the polar 216570.
The EXP II was flipped within two weeks. For me, it has too many brushed surfaces. The entire bracelet, lugs, and bezel. Black outlines on the markers instead of polished white gold. The Milgauss has the opposite of what I just mentioned for the EXP II. I never thought I was wearing a brick with the Milgauss. It fit me quite well and the curved lugs hug the wrist. I would say the Milgauss fit better than my Subs. |

Try on both pieces.....choose what sings to you more....which one keeps you up at night, etc.

I plan to own both. Currently I don't have the money for EXP2 Polar yet. I own GV, less likely to see ppl with Milgauss. Explorer will never going away, so I plan myself to get that later.

Explorer 2 wins this contest for daily ruggedness and useful complication imo.

Brick?
I have a Sub date and a Mil GV. I love them both. The Mil has a perfect well made feel to it, it's not top heavy to me at all. I had a DSSD. THAT is a top heavy watch! The Mil has PCL's so you have to consider that for everyday wear and tear. The GV is special!
