Having your rolex tested for water resistance: Go to RSC? Elsewhere? How much does it

NYC RSC tells me checking WR is complementary but takes two weeks.

Any other options in NYC?

A grey market guy literally took a steam cleaner to a rolex and looked to see if the crystal fogged from inside... So, yeah, I'd like to avoid that!

Any competent watchmaker with a dry and wet tester can do this in 10 minutes. The dry tester tells you if there's a problem. The wet tester tells you where the problem is. You should have it checked annually. I purchased the testers and do it myself regularly (not recommended for the casually hobbyist - $$$$$).

I bought my own second hand and upgraded it with new seals. A couple of 100's and fun to play with

two weeks they should be ashamed of themselves, I'm sure someone can point you in the direction of someone that can do it while you wait. I have two local AD's that do it for nothing and it takes 5-10 minutes

My last WR test turned into a PITA. The first independent (trusted and on this forum) told me my sub failed after giving me a hard time for even getting it done in the first place on such a new watch.
I wanted a second opinion and another independent said it passed.
At this point, I figured I needed to break the tie and the 3rd said it passed.
I might just be sending to RSC this year to save myself another headache.

A TRF'er kindly gave me a line on a local watchmaker. Wempe NYC also said they'd do a dry test for free and it would take minutes (unless they were busy with another client, but even then, it wouldn't take long).

RSC Hong Kong did it for me in five minutes (after they handed my 5513 back after regulation, and said it wouldn't be waterproof, and I reminded them they had just fitted a new crystal to make it waterproof a few weeks earlier).

Truth be told a simple test to 100m-200m at any watchmaker or any jeweler thats has W/R testing will be fine, if its pases said test will be fine for all water sports incluing scuba takes around 20 minuits.
