Noises

I've read that fake rolexes make a ticking noise. I purchased mine from a Rolex boutique in Orlando so I know it's real. Tonight I put watch next to my ear and heard what can be best described as a light pinging, definetly not ticking though.
I have the Rose gold fluted datejust ( I'm fairly new to forum, so I'm not as cool as y'all with the abbreviations as the rest of you are 😏 )
Has anyone else listened to their watch and not to be a complete dweeb, but has anyone named their watch?? I've named mine after a Swedish queen. Queen Hedvig. How can I not?!?? I mean guys name their cars right?!?

Is this the DJ with the chipped crystal? What happened when you took it back? People are still waiting to hear about the results on your other thread

The noise is normal, and I won't comment on the naming thing.

Wow, you guys are spot on :)
I did take it back and the store gave me a brand new one. No questions asked. They were super. I was expecting some grief from them or have to show proof that I didn't do it. But nope, so simple. They didn't have one stock that day so I came back the next and it was ready for me. They held on to my old one to show me that they just didn't swap the crystal out. Everyone was so nice.

All mechanical watches will tick or how you put it ping, the sound is the escapement pushing the pallet fork back and throe. And on all most modern movements now at 28800 BPH the sound resonance can sometimes be amplified by how large and the space in the case.

Completely normal. I could understand how not knowing the sounds of a mechanical movement might scare someone though
