Rolex Purchase - Buy new or Used??
So I am looking to add Rolex No.3 to my cache of Rolexes but I am having a hard time on deciding on whether to buy a new one or a pre-owned one. I currently have a 70's vintage explorer that was my Dad's and a 1996 16220 Datejust that was give to me new in 1996 when I graduated college. So I actually have never purchased one. I'm looking to add a no-date Sub to my collection and haven't ruled out paying the $7,500 new one. However it seems like I can save about $2K by buying a nice pre-owned model. Any pro's and cons versus buying new versus used?
Thanks! |

I've always bought pre owned. I'm not wealthy enough for the ad. Pros you get service and a wide selection to choose from also a warranty. Con's you already said it you throw at least $2,000 away. It really depends on your source for pre owned. If you can source one local and its been cared for and serviced if needed I'd take it for sure. Craigslist or the bay is a bit more sketchy. I've bought a sub on the bay and had no issues and a date just on Craigslist so idk... If I were wealthy I'd buy at the ad but then, again I'd rather help the needy and get pre loved so sorry for my little bit of help I know its not that helpful but its my opinion
