Are you averse to Rolex Modifications?
Really liking the BLNR aside from the PCL.
Thinking of picking one up - and having the bracelet brushed (AD quoted me $400). If and when I go to sell one are most buyers averse to any modifications done to a Rolex? I usually like to keep things original - but do not mind a slight mod to make anything more to my tastes. AD can also repolish for $400 as well but wondering if there will be a market down the line for a BLNR with brushed bracelet. That seems to be one of the top *complaints* with the blnr (PCL) on this forum - so wondering if brushing will even make it easier to sell? Whats your take on it? Would you purchase an 'altered' rolex? |

Most will say no. I have and would again. You could always buy another bracelet and keep the original in case you want to move it down the road. When I am shopping for a watch the bracelet is the last thing on the priority list as for the most part they are fairly easy to source. They also hold or increase in value, so if you pick up a spare it would not be difficult to move down the road.

Not averse at all! $400 sounds too much for brushing center links on a bracelet

Since its easy to "fix" I don't see the problem. Buyers looking for bling or stock finish wouldn't be interested but I think there is a big enough market to sell a GMT-c with brushed bracelet.

Look here in the sales area or on other watch forums. Or talk to your AD. AD or trusted seller is the best bet...there are fake bracelets out there too. I think a new SS Oyster bracelet from the AD is around 1.5K if I remember.

What should the price be? I'm sure I can find 'any' jeweler to do it for cheaper but thought an AD would be more of a safer option to handle a Rolex...? |

I wouldn't have an issue if there was proof it was done correctly.
I had the BLNR for months and struggled with the PCLs, despite owning a Daytona where they seemed to fit better with the polished bezel. I had them brushed and have loved the watch ever since. To note - I had them brushed at an AD - where I didn't even purchase the watch - for no charge. They did a great job. |

I think a fair price is about $100 - $150 tops

I think mods are fine...unless you're talking resale. Whole 'nother game there.
And yes, $400 is ridiculous. |

I'm good with Mods.
If I want to change later it's an easy fix. My piece was changed to sapphire crystal and I think Diamonds dials were added. I added Sapphires and Rubies to my Bezel in Colombian Colors. Makes it unique!!! (See avatar) Iv saved my original bezel I case I want to go back or ever sell it.

Thanks for all the feedback. Might start of getting the watch and seeing where it takes me from there. Sourcing an extra bracelet does not seem like a bad idea either. |

Mods are fine as long as they only use OEM parts. Same with brush/polishing but I'd make sure it could be restored to its original condition.

I have no problems what so ever with mods.
I do have a problem with $400 for a job I have done myself. |

$400! Your AD basically told you
I'm not against brushing a blnr. I wore mine on a sub bracelet when I had it. That's the absolute ideal solution as you get the killer glide lock as a bonus.

I did the opposite. ABC Watchwerks polished the center links on my LVc. Total cost with shipping to and from was $130 and they did a fantastic job. $400 is outrageous! |

$400 is insane to just brush the bracelet.
Will take them no time and it's probably the easiest mod to do and reverse. Might actually help you resell it. A lot of people prefer it. But honestly if you are already contemplating spending $400 on something you will just resell it's probably best to just stay away. uploadfromtaptalk1464389642163.jpg Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Brushing a bracelet doesn't bother me at all, that's just a finish preference....what I can't stand is people using fake/aftermarket parts on their genuine Rolex 😖

They are just watches, which are meant to be enjoyed by their owners! Modders don't really need approval by others, they just mod to fit their own needs or taste. Good examples here: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=470322 and here from a fellow TRF member:

Hey I totally understand! Not here to give "approval", just here to voice my opinion... Is that ok? Seems like you did the same! I just couldn't buy a $8k-$10k Rolex Daytona and start putting fake ceramic bezels to make it look like something else when it's not! Like I said, just my opinion...I buy genuine Rolex not to pollute it with fake parts! But by all means...if you like to Frankenstein your Rolex, who am I to say not to! |

I guess I am one of the purists, I would not modify my Rolex in any way; even if there were some feature I wanted. Having said that, it is YOUR watch, you do as makes you happy and I support the right to do so. AND... I have seen some darn nice mods on here! I hope Rolex is paying attention!

Are you averse to Rolex Modifications?
Haha that's the best you got? 😂 1. It's not a Rolex (I thought we were talking about Rolex?) 2. I got it on trade years ago like this just to sell (which I did and you know that) 3. I remember when you hated speedmasters and "chronographs" because you didn't like the small numbers and started buying them like hot cakes...cough cough Daytona 😂 But in all seriousness, it seems like I've kept you up very late in Puerto Rico...I feel terrible. If you want to Frankenstein the s*** out of your daytona then go ahead. No one will stop you from trying to make it look like a fake new Daytona. Now go to sleep, it's late old man! 😜 By the way... I thought you hated Instagram and everyone on IG are losers? Seems like your creeping... 😳 |
