Small Date? YM
Hey Guys,
I just bought a new 116622 - YM Blue Dial from my AD. It's a 2016 model. The date is really small! It's so weird, it barely looks magnified. Much smaller than all of my other date models. I'd post a pic, but it's hard to tell in a photo. Is there a known issue with new dates being smaller? The dealer said this has been a common complaint on the forum. I searched, but didn't find anything about it. It doesn't look bad, I just want to make sure it's not a defect. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks! |

This has been a sporadic issue with a lot of Rolex watches with cyclops over the last few years. It is covered under warranty. If you recently bought it through the forum (I saw it posted a few days ago), it was known by the seller in looking into his former thread starts on the forum.

The more I think about it though, I don't know that it's actually a defect. The YM next too it in the case, had the same date size. I compared them. And when I look online, it appears that the 2016's do have smaller dates from previous year YM's.
Maybe I am wrong, but I am leaning towards thinking it's normal. |

There are tons of threads about this and it is my understanding that it is hit and miss. Rolex will not admit any wrongdoing but seem to approve a replacement at no charge, under warranty.

It's not a defect, just a different cyclops. But if you don't like it it's an easy fix.

This is a common issue. I took mine back to RSC and they replaced the cyclop at no cost.
