Purchased not 15 minutes ago

So about 15 minutes ago a gentleman stops in the shop and says to me "I hear you like your pens." To which I responded "yes sir I do." He then proceeded to show me five montblanc instruments and a stand. His ex wife gave them to him and I get the feeling the current Mrs. found out where they came from. Long story short, we negotiated a few minutes and I bought the lot for under $600. I think I did alright. About to toss the parts (dried ink) in the gentle ultrasonic to clean up.

This was in a pawn shop I manage. I also own a gun smithing business and my wife owns an accounting firm. Outside of the pawn shop we both have some very very well heeled and great clients who at times pay me in gold, diamonds, pens etc. Her's tend to offer her a nice bottle of bourbon or the like.

But this deal was awesome. He came out the gate asking 600 and I had to counter at 550. He took it and the best part is he then wanted to discuss some repairs and mods to his firearms and I got 200 back!
